USOEA is affiliated to ICSE. The curriculum followed is as per the guidelines provided by the Indian Council of Secondary Education. Our school follows skill based curriculum with several innovations which are introduced after much research and study. The idea behind this is to seamlessly integrate various subjects with a common thread which links them to practical aspect of life. This gives our students a holistic view and allows them to apply knowledge and correlate various subjects in real-life situations.
From Class VI, formal subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology are introduced and the methodology of delivery is unique, it has been developed in consultation with leading experts. Lessons are planned so that students get to learn their subjects in a practical manner with several projects and activities. From Class IX along with intensive studies, Career Orientation is introduced so that students can decide their future study options
We have certain integrated programmes that include some important facets of education which otherwise has been ignored these days. These include the Read Programme, Newspeak and SL&LS (Student Leadership & Life Skills). Since we realize the importance of reading and writing in this digital age, the students are encouraged to read more books and articulate their ideas impressively. Similarly, we aim at providing students a practical hands-on approach to the real world which awaits them, once they step-out of the safe cocoon of school life in USOEA .
These efforts have borne fruits which manifest themselves in the consistently excellent results, that have been got by our students in the CISCE exams.
The bulk of the co-curricular programmes is implemented through Saturday Activities held every 1st, 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month and activities during regular periods and Social Useful and Productive Work (SUPW) sessions held. Apart from these, various on-and off-campus programmes which include excursions and trips, and inter- and intra-school competitions. Students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills through a ‘Student Council’ that is governed by a prefect body. To encourage and enhance students, interactive sessions are conducted with visiting experts and celebrated artists and scientists throughout the year.
With a view to reiterate Traditional Values, this current academic year has been dedicated to the theme, “Cultural Heritage of India”. We ardently believe in instilling a deep notion of respect for the cultural heritage of India. We aspire for our students to become more sensitive and humane citizens.
At USOEA, the early childhood curriculum is designed to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the young child as well as the demands of the 21st century. Our curriculum draws inspiration from the Theory of Constructivism, the Reggio-Emilia Approach to Learning and the Theory of Multiple Intelligences.
Builds on the child’s prior knowledge and experiences, by helping the child to construct meaning and reflect on one’s own learning.
Engages the child in project-based learning, documenting the child’s journey of investigation through field trips, interviews, resource books and audio-visuals, while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Emphasises on the development of the whole child.
Is the ONLY joyous way for young children to learn; it enhances conceptual learning, socialization and emotional freedom.
Provide learning in the other 3 R’s – Responsibility, Relationships and Respect for the living and nonliving things.
Celebration of socio-cultural differences is our way of life.
At USOEA, the methods and techniques are constantly upgraded for a 360-degree assessment of the child. In order to arrive at this assessment, the teacher makes detailed observation on a regular and periodic basis. This minute observation is provided as a report to parents on a termly basis.
The assessment: 2 Cycle of Summative Assessments in each term

As the learner has gained mastery over basic concepts underlying each subject area in the primary years, the learner is now ready to meet the rigours of the academic programme in the secondary section aligned with the ICSE Examinations. The focus shifts to self-reliance and initiative with purposeful, goal-directed facilitation by the teacher.
